چکیده

Calotropis gigantea stems (CGS) has the potential to use as biosorbent for adsorption of Cu(II) ions. In this study, CGS (CGSB) was prepared by drying and grounding. The effect independent variables on capacity were investigated. As result, maximum 53.457 mg/g obtained optimal condition which initial ions concentration 567.47 mg/L, CGSB size less than 230 mesh, mass 1 g, temperature 27 oC, pH 5, contact time 60 min. surface morphology analysed using SEM. fitted well with pseudo first-order kinetic (PFO-AK) model (R2=0.99), PFO-AK rate constant 70.194 0.0877 g/mg.min, respectively. isotherm in accordance Freundlich intensity volume constants attained 0.876 1.017 L/mg, This result showed that physical occurred dominantly chemical adsorption. application wastewater 389.31 mg/L from ex-mine pool acid mine drainage (AMD) Jantang village, Lhoong District, Aceh Besar, Province resulted 37.52 efficiency 66.13%.

Adsorption of Copper (II) Ions from Aqueous Solution onto Activated Carbon Prepared from Cane Papyrus

The present study evaluates the suitability ofactivated carbon, prepared from Cane Papyrus, a plant that grows naturally and can be found quite easily, which serves as a biological sorbent for removal of  Cu2+ ions from aqueous solutions. Fourier transform infra-red analysis for the activated carbon, prepared fromCane Papyrus confirms the presence of amino (–NH), carbonyl (–C=O), and hydroxyl (...

Adsorption Efficiency of Iron Modified Carbons for Removal of Pb(II) Ions from Aqueous Solution

Abstract Introduction: The Lead causes severe damage to several systems of the body, especially to bony tissues. Until now, several low-cost biosorbents have been studied for removal of heavy metal ions from aqueous solutions. In the present study, carbonized pomegranate peels modified with Fe2+ and Fe3+ ions and then it was investigated for removal of Pb(II) ions from aqueous solution. ...

Adsorption of Lead ions from aqueous solution by the dead biomass of nanoalgae Scenedesmus sp.

In attempts to remove toxic metal lead, distinct types of algae biomass have been scrutinized as alternatives to conventional physicochemical technologies. In this research, the absorption of  Lead by nanoalgae Scenedesmus sp. was studied at concentration of10 to 100 mg/L, pH 3 to 8, temperature 15 to 40 °C and exposure time of 10 to 60 minutes)in a batch culture system. The concentration of Le...

Removal of Hexavalent Chromium Ions from Aqueous Solution by Adsorption Using Activated Carbon Prepared from Cucumis Melo Peel Activated carbon

Activated carbon prepared from Cucumis Melo Peel was used as adsorbent for the removal of chromium ion from aqueous solution. Adsorption experiments were performed by varying initial metal ion concentration, temperature, and pH. Freundlich and Langmuir isotherms were used to analyze the equilibrium data obtained at different adsorption conditions. Adsorption results obtained, shows that the Cr ...
